Pune Shakti Zunzar may 10, 2023.:-The ‘Someshwar Foundation’ Pune has organized a week long programs called ‘Pune Idol’ competition for amateur singers and artists from all over Maharashtra.
The competition which has started from may 8th will continues till may 14, said organiser Sunny Nimhan here today.
This competition was started in 2002 from the concept of Late MLA Vinayak Nimhan through Someshwar Foundation.
Famous singers like Ravindra Sathe, Prabha Atre, Mahesh Kale, Shaunak Abhishekhi, Vaishali Samant, Rahul Deshpande have attended and guided the artists through this competition. Singers like Komal Krishna, Saurabh Salunkhe, Tushar Rithe, who have won many competitions are working as playback singers in the film industry, said Convenor Sunny Nimhan.
Singer Jitendra Bhuruk said that Shripad Solapurkar, Medha Chandwadkar, Manjushree Oak, Rajesh Datar, Subhash Keskar will participate as judges in this year’s competition. Through Someshwar Foundation, this competition will be held in four age groups namely Little Champs up to 15 years of age, 15 to 30 Youth, 30 to 50 General and above 50 Old is Gold. In each category, the winner will be awarded 15,000 and the runner-up will be awarded 10,000 cash and medals. All the singers will be accompanied by well-achieved artists in the field of music. Convener said that the special participating singers will be given incentive cash prizes, medical and educational expenses on behalf of the foundation.
This year’s competition was inaugurated by senior singer Anuradha Marathe and singer Suvarna Mategaonkar. It is being held at Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Hall, Ghole Road and the final round will be held on May 14 at Balgandharva. The registration form of the competition has been started online from www.sunnynimhan.com website and also at Shivajinagar Gavthan, Jangli Maharaj Road from today. Organizers said that it will be mandatory to take admission (6th grade) till May.
